UPDATE 26/01/21: REMOVAL OF THE TEMPORARY TRAFFIC BANS FOR ET IN AND AROUND THE PORT OF ZEEBRUGGE


For the time being, only additional measures for the passage of the N31 between the complex with the A11 (entrance and exit 20) and the connection with the N34 (in both directions):
     - Do a very recent preliminary reconnaissance of the route (at most a few hours before the planned departure / arrival).
     - In case of nuisance do not leave, as well as inform dispatching police (050 / 44.88.44) to report the nuisance.
     - Immediately notify dispatching police if you get stuck

Belgium - UPDATE Brexit: Port of Zeebrugge

The imminent Brexit probably will cause heavy traffic jams on all roads around the port of Zeebrugge.
Consequently for exceptional transport (temporary) restrictions will be applied, in order not to put an extra charge on/congest the infrastructure and to avoid traffice-dangerous conflicts.
The situation will be monitored continuously, evaluated and adjusted where necessary.


All exceptional transport will be prohibited from 28/12/2020 until 31/12/20 (included) on the N31 between the complex with A11 (on and exit) and the connection with the N34 (in both directions).

Belgium - UPDATE Mandatory registration in the Antwerp Port Area

For all exceptional transport, width more than 3,50 m, for which there is a modification or removal of signage and/or road infrastructure, to take place in the port area of Antwerp (with exception of the motorways (A12/R2/E34) and the regional roads (N180/N129/N101/N101a/ central road of Sint-Antoniusweg) must be notified to the port area of Antwerp through email:  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with all information regarding the road and signage and/or road infrastucture to be removed.

Belgium - Parking border crossing E40/A3 Eynatten / Lichtenbusch

In recent years there has been a sharp increase in the number of exceptional vehicles from Germany crossing the border in Eynatten (mainly wind turbine blades).

Due to the lack of parking, the police had drawn up a tolerance regarding parking on the service road just after exit 39 of the A3 / E40 towards Loncin. This was illegal parking but tolerated by the police on condition that the passage was kept clear for police. Unfortunately, that service road is now regularly overcrowded and there are even transports that are still partly on the exit and therefore cause a lot of risks to road safety.

Extension expiry date French permits

25 March 2020

In the period from 12 March 2020 to 1 month after the end of the state of emergency, Regulation 2020-306 of 25/03/2020 provides in particular for the extension of the period of validity of exceptional transport permits to 2 months after this period

The permits that have expired since 12/3 and expire until 1 month after the end of the state of emergency are therefore considered to be valid for 2 months longer than the expiration date stated on the permit itself.
